Myfish Symposium
The Symposium on “Targets and limits for long term fisheries management” will be held during October 27th to 30th 2015, in Athens, Greece.
The symposium is organized as a mixture of scientific oral and poster presentations and interactive sessions focusing on implementation of targets and limits in practical fisheries management. The symposium is organized in close collaboration with the EU-FP7 project Myfish – Maximising yield of fisheries while balancing ecosystem, economic and social concerns.
The goal of the symposium is to document and synthesise the best quality scientific approaches to management advice and implementation under potentially conflicting objectives.
We seek presentations and posters which focus on the role of targets and limits for long term fisheries management in an ecosystem, economic and social context, the identification and effect of trade-offs in management and the necessity to account for the variable ecosystem, economic and social settings of fisheries in the decision making process. We encourage contributions from all geographic areas to enable discussions at a global scale.
More news on this symposium will follow.
